Cuba libre recipe

Prologue

Hello, this is Holden who loves cocktails! This cocktail is'Cuba Libre'. Do you remember the alcohol used when we first introduced'Daikiri', named after a Cuban mine? Rum! I use rum again. Cuba's love for rum seems unique. Drinking only rum is poisonous, so I used syrup and sugar. What ingredients will go in this time? Let's get started right away!

1. Story

This cocktail originated from the motto'Viva Cuba Libre', which was created during the independence movement of Cuba, which was a Spanish colony in 1902. It's a popular cocktail when the US military lieutenant who was stationed in Havana to support the independence movement at the time accidentally drank cola in rum at a bar. It is often drunk in hot areas, mainly in South America. It is a refreshing cocktail with the sweet scent of rum, the sweetness of cola, and the sourness of lime.

2. Information

■ Glass : Highball glass

 Recipe : Build

 Garnish : Wedge lemon

■ Ingredients

 - Light rum 1 + 1/2 OZ

 - Lime juice 1/2 OZ

 - Cola

3. Steps

 1. Fill the highball glass with ice.

 2. Add 1 + 1/2 OZ of light rum.

 3. Add 1/2 OZ of lime juice.

 4. Fill the rest with coke.

 5. Stir well to mix with a bar spoon.

 6. Garnish with lemon wedges.

4. Taste

★★☆ : Sweetness
★★☆☆ : Alcohol
★★☆☆ : Heavy
★★★☆ : Unique

This cocktail is also mouth-watering just by looking at it. The color of the cola and a large piece of lime make an exquisite harmony! The point is time. Because it contains carbonate. Coke without carbonate, sushi without wasabi. The same is true of all. If you drink about half of the highball glass all at once, you can feel the scent of lime and rum as well as the refreshing feeling that will open your chest. It would suit your party really well!

6. Tips

Fill the highball glass up to 90% of cola.

In terms of ingredients, rum and lime juice are the basics, and with grenadine syrup it is'Bacardi Cocktail', sugar is added to'Daikiri', and cola is added to'Cuba Libre'.

When filling the coke, pour it as slowly as possible. Stir slowly as well when mixing with a bar spoon. When the carbonic acid is broken, only the sweetness remains and the refreshing sensation decreases. If you imagine a cola without carbonate, you will understand immediately.

A similar cocktail is'Mosco Mule'. I'll introduce it in the fourth cocktail.
